Apatite Necklace with Copper Celtic Triskele
This colorful necklace is made from blue apatite beads with copper findings. The pendant is a Triskele that I made from copper wire. The necklace is adjustable from approximately 23” to 25” long. I actually made the Triskele to wear when I went to Ireland and then incorporated it into this necklace.
The Triskele or Triskelion is an ancient Celtic symbol. The meaning of the Triskele is diverse. It can be thought to represent forward motion as the three circles appear to be moving outwards. The three circles have many connotations - birth-death-rebirth, spirit-mind-body, to name a couple. In Ireland before the 5th century, in Celtic Christianity, the Triskele came to represent the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). It continues to be a decorative symbol of faith for Christians of Celtic descent.
